College Students and International Students Urged To Participate In the 2010 Census
Friday, March 19th, 2010College and census officials are making a concerted effort to make sure that college students fill out their census forms this year.
Including college students in the census can be challenging for a number of reasons, reports USA Today: One problem is that forms are sent in March, just before spring break, and follow-ups take place in May, when many students have already left for the summer. Additionally, many people mistakenly believe that college students are supposed to be counted in their hometowns, and international students often believe that they are not supposed to complete the form at all. Los Angeles Free Friday
Friday, March 19th, 2010by Lisa Newton at Travelin’ Local

Of course, the big news this weekend is the first time ever sold-out LA Marathon is back in town, being held Sunday, March 21st. This year’s race course is going from east to west, ending at the Santa Monica Pier.
Here are a few more ideas to keep your weekend active and busy:
All about the Saban Theatre: Go behind the scenes and get a real insider’s look at the Saban Theatre. Tour backstage, the dressing rooms, and see the performer’s view from the stage – behind the footlights. The tour is being hosted by the Los Angeles Historical Theatre Foundation. Opening in 1930, the Saban, formally known as the Wilshire Theatre Beverly Hills is one of LA’s finest theatres. Saturday, March 20th, 10:30am; doors open at 10:00am, Saban Theatre, 8440 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills, CA 90211
L.A. STREET SUMMIT 2010: Biking, Walking and Beyond!: From last year’s event, which I was able to attend, organizers have expanded this year’s event to include walking and beyond. I had a great time last year and I’m sure this year’s event will be even bigger and better. March 20th, 10:00am-5:00pm, LA Trade Tech College, 400 W. Washington Blvd., Los Angeles, California.
Angel Flight Railway: Although not free, it costs $.25, it’s pretty close, so taking a ride on the recently restored historic Angel’s Flight is a memory and blast from the past, in the making. After being out of service for almost 9 years, it’s great to have the trains moving again.
