Biography of Jean-Marc Dedeyne
My name is Jean-Marc.
Helping you get settled in and acclimated to the American culture as easily as possible is my goal and objective.
As an international student, who came from France, I found my experience here both intriguing and intimidating. While I thoroughly enjoyed the unique educational atmosphere provided by UCLA, I also found myself facing many trials and tribulations as I dealt with daily life. Events that locals took for granted were all to daunting for a foreigner like me, which is why I founded U in the USA.
Jean-Marc is also on the board of Alliance Française de Los Angeles, and member of Franco American non-profit organizations, such as Los Angeles Accueil and Bay French Overseas since 2006.
Jean-Marc began his career in 1997 at Business Object France, leader in Business Intelligence solutions, as Telemarketing Software Engineer. A year later, he joined SAS France, the French subsidiary of the largest independent vendor in the business intelligence market, as Sales Engineer. In 2001, Jean-Marc joined HP France, the French subsidiary of one the World’s largest IT companies, where he served as Account Manager IT Solutions for Business Applications (Enterprise Resource Planning and Customer Relationship Management) for six years. Overall, during the first ten years of his career, Jean-Marc generated around $43 million in revenues with global partners such as Oracle, Capgemini and CSC. Also, he acquired an international experience by working and travelling in 25 countries around the world.
In 2005, Jean-Marc received the top sales award for outstanding performance and exceeding quotas for four consecutive quarters and joined the HP Winners Summit 2005 in Puerto Rico. In 2007, an article about his expatriation to the USA was published by France Antilles Martinique, one of the regional publications of the French publishing conglomerate France Antilles.
Jean-Marc completed a Master Degree in Sales and Infrastructure Technology Services at EURIDIS France, the Superior School of Infrastructure Sales Engineers, in 1997. In 2008, Jean-Marc received a Certificate in General Business Studies – Entrepreneurship from the University of California, Los Angeles.
